The Toronto Jewish Quilting Project uses communal quilt-making as a way of building community. For almost twenty years, the primary focus of this group is to make quilts and provide them as gifts for those touched by cancer. To date, the project has brought comfort to over 500 recipients. Each one of the Angel Quilts is an expression of the creativity and compassion of these dedicated quilters. If someone dear to you has been touched by cancer, please contact us.
In addition, from time to time, other quilting projects are initiated. For example during the pandemic, the Toronto Jewish Quilting Project created kits to make potholders which were distributed to over 1000 volunteers. These quilted potholders were then collected and included in the 2022 Passover Food Drive food boxes which were distributed to the neediest members of the Jewish Community.
New members are always welcome to join this group. No experience necessary. The program takes place on Wednesdays 1:30pm to 3:30pm at Council House, 890 Sheppard Ave. W.. For more information please call (416) 633-5100 or info@ncjwctoronto.org.
