ABOUT MITZVAH DAY
Small actions can make a big difference.
MITZVAH DAY is an opportunity to take part in a day of social action and make a difference in the communities around us!
Mitzvah Day International is an annual day of faith-based social action that takes place in November each year, in communities across the globe. On Mitzvah Day each year, community groups and individuals undertake a range of volunteer projects for those in need in their local community.
HIGHLIGHTS OF PAST MITZVAH DAYS
2024 Highlights
This year, we reached nearly 1,700 people in the GTA, marking a more than 40% increase over last year’s efforts. Your generosity and dedication truly made an impact.
Here’s what we accomplished together:
- Supported incredible organizations including Ve’ahavta, Chai Lifeline, Fill a Purse for a Sister, and JIAS.
- Welcomed a special visit from Michael Kerzner, MPP, who shared his gratitude with us.
- Our volunteers Ena Cord, Bonnie Wells, and Susan Glickman organized the second Annual Mitzvah Day Family Bingo event for the residents of the NCJWC Toronto Foundation building. A wonderful time was had by all, with lots of kids in attendance.
- Introduced a teen committee of volunteers who hosted a carnival day at DANI, creating a “dopamine-filled afternoon”. They were really excited and made connections with many of the attendees.
